Control of PMWS in Brittany: a mainly zootechnical approach

By H. Guilmoto & Sabine Wessel-Robert of COOPERL-Hunaudaye, 22400 Lamballe, France - PMWS has a significant economic impact. Because no treatment or vaccine is presently available, it is absolutely necessary to reconsider current herd management practices. Usually, few respiratory or digestive disorders occur that are considered to be linked to the basic instability of the sanitary status. Sanitary measures improve the situation in numerous cases. However, some herd owners have been little rewarded for their efforts regarding technical results. This paper was presented at the Merial sponsored symposium on PMWS held at 2000 IPVS conference in Melbourne, Australia.
