Achieving realistic production targets
By Jim Carlton, Pork Magazine - Good people are the primary key to achieving realistic production goals in today’s pork production systems. In today’s pork production systems the end product may be pork, but business success is related more to people than anything else.
That’s what veterinarian Howard Hill concluded in his Kernkamp Lecture at the 2001 University of Minnesota’s Allen D. Leman Swine Conference.
“The employee implements the business plan created by a company,” says Hill, DVM, PhD, chief operating officer for Iowa Select Farms. “Without good employees, we do not have a business.”
