Méthodologie innovatrice pour la réduction du prolapsus du rectum chez le porc [Innovative technique of surgical treatment of prolapsed rectum in swine].
Association Française de Médecine Vétérinaire Porcine, 2004, 156-159
An innovative technique of surgical treatment of prolapsed rectum in swine is described. This techniques consists in introducing a 20-25 cm piece of plastic hose into the prolapsed part of the restum and ligaturing around the prolapse. The pressure of the ligature leads to necrosis and the amputation of the prolapsed part. Pigs recover rapidly, this technique has a low cost and can be used under farm conditions.
