Postweaning multisystemic wasting syndrome ? PMWS. The first year with the disease in Sweden.
Veterinary Quarterly, 2004, Volume 26, N°4, 170-187
Although the presence of PCV2 had been demonstrated in Swedish swine herds much before, no case of PMWS in was reported until December 2003. The reasons why PMWS emerged and why it is spreading in remains unclear but provides real-time information about the early phase of PMWS outbreak. To date, 16 cases of PMWS have been reported at a herd level and 10 other herds are under investigation, other 15 herds have individual PMWS cases.
