In order to assess the immune responses following infection with porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome (PRRS) virus and vaccination with an inactivated vaccine, pigs were vaccinated with PROGRESSIS® (MERIAL, Lyon, France) and then infected with a PRRS virus strain. The analyses then conducted (ELISPOT assay, flow cytometry and statistical analysis) showed that the vaccine induced a significant production of CD4⁺ CD8^int+ and CD8^high virus-specific T cells.
