Statistical evaluation of classical swine fever surveillance plans in Italy.
Journal of Veterinary Medicine - B, 2005, Volume 52, 199-200
The presence of low-virulence classical swine fever (CSF) viral strains was monitored from 1995 to 2003 in Italy. These surveillance plans were based on a serological analysis (ELISA test) aiming at detecting antibodies against CSF virus. The various analyses showed that there was no endemic infection. However, as these plans are based on sampling, they should be carried out each year, so as to make sure the data provided is reliable.
