Identification of porcine circovirus type 2 in retrospective cases of pigs naturally infected with porcine epidemic diarrhoea virus.
Veterinary Journal, 2006, Volume 171, Nº1, 166-168
High prevalence of porcine circovirus type 2 (PCV2) were detected in pigs naturally infected with porcine epidemic diarrhea virus (PEDV), both by PCR performed in fresh intestinal samples (32.7%) and by in situ hybridization in formalin-fixed, paraffin-wax-embedded intestinal samples (29.9%). The role of PCV2 in the manifestation of diarrhea in PEDV-infected pigs needs to be further investigated.
