Reactivity profile of two parvovirus erysipelas leptospira (PEL) vaccines - a safety study.
American Association of Swine Veterinarians - Proceedings, 2006, 217-220
Two different commercial vaccines for parvovirus-erysipelas-leptospira (PEL), namely FarrowSure®Plus (Pfizer Animal Health) and ParvoShield®L5E (Novartis Animal Health), adjuvanted with oil and aluminum hydroxyde respectively, were compared in terms of safety. Three parameters were used: fever, inappetence and injection site reactivity following vaccination, in 122 gilts and 127 mixed parity sows. Several statistically significant differences were detected in favor of ParvoShieldŽL5E suggesting that major safety is achieved with the aluminum hydroxyde adjuvant.
