Reactivity profile of two parvovirus erysipelas leptospira (PEL) vaccines - a safety study.
American Association of Swine Veterinarians - Proceedings, 2006, 217-220
Two different commercial vaccines for parvovirus-erysipelas-leptospira (PEL), namely FarrowSure®Plus (Pfizer Animal Health) and ParvoShield®L5E (Novartis Animal Health), adjuvanted with oil and aluminum hydroxyde respectively, were compared in terms of safety. Three parameters were used: fever, inappetence and injection site reactivity following vaccination, in 122 gilts and 127 mixed parity sows. Several statistically significant differences were detected in favor of ParvoShield®L5E suggesting that major safety is achieved with the aluminum hydroxyde adjuvant.
