Evaluation des données technico-économiques dans le cadre d'une autorisation temporaire d'utilisation d'un vaccin inactivé contre la MAP [Evaluation of the technical and economic data of an inactivated PMWS vaccine under compassi
Proceedings of the Journées Nationales des Groupements Techniques Vétérinaires, Dijon, France, 2006, 583-584
A temporary use authorization for an inactivated vaccine against postweaning multisystemic wasting syndrome (PMWS) was released to Merial by the French Agency for Veterinary Medicinal Products (ANMV) at the end of 2004. All 24 French swine herds included in this study started to vaccinate between November 2004 and February 2005. The geographical distribution of the herds represented the national swine production situation. The technical and economic data of all herds were analyzed and showed that the implementation of such a vaccination plan resulted in a 1.6%, 2% and 3.5% loss reduction during the postweaning, fattening and weaning-to-slaughter periods respectively. In addition, a significant improvement by 0.11 of the FCR was noted.
