Characterization of the T cell subsets involved in Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae-specific long-lasting cellular immunity.
Proceedings of the 19th IPVS Congress, Copenhagen, Denmark, 2006 - Volume 2:215
The objective of this study was to determine which T-cell subsets were associated with lung lesions caused by Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae infection. Pigs born to seropositive sows were vaccinated with an inactivated M. hyopneumonia vaccine, with either Adjuvant A or Adjuvant B. A month later, an ex vivo antigen specific stimulation was carried out. A fluorescent activated cell sorting (FACS) analysis was also performed. The results suggest that the T-cell subset associated with protection against M. hyopneumonia-related lung lesions was represented by CD4-CD8alow+ /IFNγ+TNFa+.
