A parvovirus/erysipelas characterization of the Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae-specific immune response induced by vaccine Parvoruvax® in pigs.
Proceedings of the 19th IPVS Congress, Copenhagen, Denmark, 2006 - Volume 2:162
The aim of this study was to determine the specific immune response induced by vaccination with PARVORUVAX® (Merial). This vaccine was administered twice to ten SPF piglets. Another group consisting of 10 other piglets was used as control. Analyses were conducted to determine the type of immune response induced by the vaccine, i.e. T-cell mediated and humoral immune responses. An ELISpot assay and an ELISA test were used for the analyses performed in the course of the study. The results showed that PARVORUVAX® resulted in a high and long-lasting T-cell mediated and humoral immunity against Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae.
