The level of PCV2 specific antibodies and viremia in pigs.
ESVV - 7TH International Congress of Veterinary Virology, Lisbon, Portugal, 2006 - p 254
The objective of this study was to assess seroconversion in pigs naturally infected with porcine circovirus type 2 (PCV2). It also aimed to determine whether a relation existed between viremia and the antibody titer. Piglets from a postweaning multisystemic wasting syndrome (PMWS)-positive farm were selected for the study. IgM and IgG were detected via an ELISA test. Blood samples were collected and analysed so as to determine the quantity of virus circulating. The results clearly showed that a correlation existed between viremia and antibody titers.
