Though postweaning multisystemic wasting syndrome (PMWS) was first diagnosed in 2001 in Denmark, its prevalence has recently increased. For this reason, many research projects have been launched in this country to study the epidemiology of the disease and diagnostic methods, and investigate various control approaches. This paper provides information on these different projects and reports their findings.
