Genetic diversity of American-type vaccine-derived PRRS isolates in Germany.

This paper describes a study that aimed to define the genetic characteristics of US porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome (PRRS) isolates found in Germany. It also aimed to determine whether these isolates were associated with vaccine strains RepPRRSMLV and VR-2332. The author conclude that the American type of strains, most likely reverted from the vaccine strain have a considerable degree of plasticity.
