Parvovirus seroneutralising antibody response after vaccination with a swine erysipelas and parvovirus vaccine: PARVORUVAX® .
Proceedings of the 19th IPVS Congress, Copenhagen, Denmark, 2006 - Volume 2:161
The objective of this study was to evaluate the humoral immune response induced by the Parvoruvax® vaccine (Merial). Nine SPF-PPV-free gilts were vaccinated twice (day 0 and day 28). Another group consisting of 5 gilts was used as control. Blood samples were collected at different time points from the vaccinated sows, in order to evaluate the parvovirus neutralizing antibody titers. A statistical analysis was then performed on these titers. The results showed that a double administration of the vaccine resulted in a SN seroconversion in all gilts. The seroneutralising response induced by PARVORUVAX vaccinations appeared to be very strong and long-lasting.
