Characterization of the parvovirus-specific immune response induced by swine erysipelas/parvovirus combo vaccine (PARVORUVAX®) in pigs.
Proceedings of the 19th IPVS Congress, Copenhagen, Denmark, 2006 - Volume 2:160
The aim of this study was to define the immune response induced by vaccination with Parvoruvax® (Merial). This vaccine was administered twice to ten SPF piglets and piglets were then boosted 4 months later. Both T-cell mediated and humoral immune responses were analysed. ELISpot assays and an ELISA test were used for the analyses performed in the course of the study. The results showed that vaccination with Parvoruvax® induced the secretion of parvovirus-specific IFNγ+ T cells and antibody secreting B cells. IgG1 and IgG2 appeared to be present during the primary antibody response and the memory antibody response indicating an initial balanced response and an increase of the CMI response after the first booster.
