Evaluation of the changes in the total mortality rates observed after six month use of CIRCOVAC® porcine circovirus vaccine allowed in Canada for emergency use.
American Association of Swine Veterinarians - Proceedings, 2007, 139-140
The use of CIRCOVAC®, Merial porcine circovirus inactivated sow vaccine, during 6 months was associated with a significant reduction of total mortality rates in most of the 71 Canadian farms included in this study. Before vaccination, the average minimum and maximum total mortality rates were 11.8% and 13.3% which fell to 5.0% and 5.4% respectively during vaccination. These results clearly indicate that CIRCOVAC® allows to reduce the impact of PCV2-associated diseases.
