Results of the vaccination against PCV2 diseases with Circovac® in 233 German sow herds: decrease in mortality

As Circovac® received an exceptional license in August 2004 in Germany, the authors here report the impact of vaccination with Circovac® in 233 German herds (for a total of more than 66,700 sows and gilts). The veterinarians working on these pig farms completed a questionnaire based on farm records. It is to be noted that PMWS was present in most of the farms involved in the study. This study confirmed that PCV2 vaccination with Circovac® significantly reduced mortality throughout the pig's life.
