Evaluation of the changes in total mortality rates observed after six months use of Circovac® porcine circovirus vaccine allowed in Canada for emergency use

As Circovac® was allowed by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency for emergency use only, an early assessment of the vaccine efficacy in reduction of mortality was carried out. In this regard, 41 veterinarians that had received this vaccine and used it in some farms were asked to report the mortality rates they observed in those vaccinated herds. The results of this study showed that Circovac® vaccination significantly reduced mortality.
