Miracle sanitaire chez Jocelyn Brodeur (Health miracle at Jocelyn Brodeur's farm)
Porc Magazine, 2007, Nº411, 38-43
This paper reports the case of a Canadian pig producer who decided to modify his management technique further to a period during which he faced significant losses due to PMWS. This farmer opted for a 4-week batch management ("Conduite en 5 bandes"). Mortality rate dropped down from 8 to 5% the first year, 3.5% during the 4 following months. PCV2 vaccination of the sows was then put in place and mortality in the nursery fell down to 1.3% while average daily weight gain and feed concersion ratio were markedly improved. His pig farm now benefits from all the advantages of this management programme.
