The following terms and conditions apply to all book orders which are processed by 5M Enterprises Limited either online or by any other form of communication and form part of the contract between us. These are in addition to our standard terms and conditions for the web site.
Terms & Conditions of Sale
Credit Card SecurityFor your security our site employs 128 bit SSL for all credit card transactions.
128 bit SSL (secure sockets layer - also known as https//) which is a technology used to secure form / data transmissions on the web. SSL works by a server exchanging a "key" with the customer before any data is transmitted. The data is then encrypted before it is sent and decrypted by the server at the other end.
Contrary to popular opinion, web site's that employ SSL, like ours, offer you more protection than most offline merchants that accept credit cards.
Delivery
Our aim is to process all orders within 24 hours from receipt of payment.
Books on this site are supplied by a number of different distributors. Upon completion of your order you will receive an email confirming your order details, broken down by distributor name. Each distributor will deliver their portion of the order. 5M aims to deliver its books within the following delivery time scales:
5 working days for UK delivery
8 working days for European delivery
15 working days for Worldwide delivery
However, the above time frames assume our carriers and any associated local carriers deliver within their own stated time frames. As their performance is beyond our control we unable to guarantee these time scales will be met in every case, thus please allow 28 days for delivery.
If your order is urgent please contact us and we can provide a guaranteed delivery service at additional charge.
If a book you have selected is not in stock at the time of placing your order, we will let you know the expected delivery timescale and provide you with the option of waiting, changing or cancelling your order for a full refund.
Payment
A valid customer credit card is required for payment. Your credit card will be charged at the time when you submit your order or if the product cannot be supplied, when it is shipped.
Pricing
Prices are quoted in pounds sterling and exclude shipping costs, which are advertised by each book. Books do not attract VAT in Europe, as such, prices do not include VAT. The customer is responsible for payment of any sales tax applying in the country in which they are domiciled, in addition to the purchase price.
Pricing Disclaimer
To offer the best prices some of our book drop-ship direct from the distributor. Since we do not inventory these items we may not always have advance notice of price changes. Therefore, prices and post and packing rates are subject to change without notice. When we process an order if we find that the cost will be different than advertised we will contact the customer with the option of paying the new price, canceling at no charge, or changing the order to a different item.
Returns and Refunds
You may cancel your order at any time before your order is delivered and up to 7 working days following the day after the day you receive your order. Notice of cancellation must be in writing by post, e-mail or fax (details above) giving full order details. To obtain a refund of goods that have been despatched, you must return the goods at your own expense and the goods must be in new and unused, mint condition. You must return them by recorded delivery with adequate packing and insurance cover within 14 working days of receipt so that 5M can provide the refund. Upon satisfactory and timely receipt 5M will credit your credit card (or otherwise refund) the total amount of your order, excluding the relevant post and packing costs.
In addition 5M will accept goods for return within 28 days of receipt by you if:
- 5M sends the wrong goods to you, in which case upon the return of such goods to 5M, 5M will (at its option) refund the price to you (including our postage costs) or send you the correct goods;
- the goods were found to be damaged on receipt in which case upon return of such goods to 5M, 5M will (at its option) either replace the goods or give you a full refund (including our postage costs).
Force Majeure
5M will not be liable to any customer for any delays or failure to perform due to any causes beyond our reasonable control. These causes may include acts or omissions of the customer, acts of God, default by a supplier, interruptions to delivery due to transport difficulties. The delivery cycle will be interrupted to be extended by the time lost by the excusable delay.
Jurisdiction and Law
Contracts between you and 5M are governed by and shall be construed in accordance with English law with English courts having jurisdiction subject to any contrary rights you may have if you are a consumer.
