IPVS 2008: Lawsonia intracellularis is the cause of Proliferative Enteropathy, also known as ileitis, and regarded as one of the main cause of enteric disease problems. Boehringer Ingelheim Thailand has recently introduced a novel oral vaccine, Enterisol® Ileitis, which reduces the loss of weight gain and reduces loss of uniformity within a group due to ileitis. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of oral vaccination against Lawsonia intracellularis on growerfinisher pig performance in a large scale pig production unit in Thailand.
