Ivermectin is a broad-spectrum anti-parasite with a wide safety margin. Ivermectin stimulates the release of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), a neurotransmitter from the nerve endings of target parasites. This interrupts the nerve impulses necessary for movement thereby paralyzing and killing the parasites.
