Sire Line Development
ACMC tests on-farm thousands of sire line boars each year, measuring individual feed intake, speed of growth and both muscle and fat depths to ensure that the most advanced product is available to our customers.
ACMC's applied scientific development through quantitative genetics using phenotypic test data and gene marker selection has produced an advanced range of terminal meat Vantage sire lines.
Selection has focused on lean tissue food conversion, lean tissue growth rate and muscle depth. Meat quality traits are also included in our selection procedures. All of this individual animal data is processed through the ACMC Gene Evaluation Programme (GEP) to create Estimated Breeding Values (EBV) for each boar.
Notwithstanding the individual boar's performance, the boars are then selected for physical uniformity, locomotion and libido before embarking on their working productive life.
ACMC Vantage MQ Boar
The Vantage MQ is our Meat Quality sire line boar derived from the Duroc. The Meat Quality is portrayed through his progeny displaying darker coloured meat with slightly higher intra-muscular fat. Ideally suited for specialist processing pig requirements. A world leader in applied pig genetic development providing the ultimate in product value.
Vantage MQ - Breeding confidence.
This strong boar when mated with parent females, such as the AC1, creates an abundance of hybrid vigour, ensuring good litter size, survivability and speed of growth. The resulting progeny being strong and viable are suited for the most rigorous conditions.
