Cobactan 2.5% - Product Overview
Cobactan 2.5%
Cobactan 2.5% is a ready to use antibiotic for injection. It contains 25mg/ml cefquinome (4th generation cephalosporin). It is active against both Gram+ and Gram- bacteria.

For pigs Cobactan 2.5% is indicated for treatment of:
  • Bacterial infection of the lungs and respiratory tract caused by Pasteurella multocida, Haemophilus parasuis, Actinobacillus pleuropneunomiae (APP), Streptococcus suis and other cefquinome-sensitive organisms
  • Mastitis-Metritis-Agalactie syndrome (MMA) with involvement of E. coli, Staphylococcus spp, Streptococcus spp. and other cefquinome-sensitive organisms
  • Meningitis caused by Streptococcus suis
  • Arthritis caused by Streptococcus spp .
  • Epidermitis caused by Staphylococcus hyicus
Cobactan 2.5% exceeds other antibiotics due to it’s:
  • Rapid onset of activity (max serum concentrations are measured within 15-60 minutes after injection)
  • Broad spectrum activity
  • Penetration in the cerebrospinal and the synovial fluid
  • Short withholding period
  • Tissue friendly character
