Walking the pens on ThePigSite.com, presented by Pfizer Animal Health

Pfizer Animal Health is proud to present a new on-line educational simulation that can be played from any standard computer, "Virtual Walking the Pens," to help demonstrate the importance of Individual Pig Care. If even one pig gets sick, the entire barn is at risk. Walking the pens and observing each pig for health issues is the best way to ensure the whole population’s health, and the barn’s bottom line.

New Scenario November 2009

Pigs have arrived coughing and uninterested in food. It looks like death loss could get high on this group if we can’t get them turned around. The last caregiver said it didn’t seem to matter what she did, pigs would not take off and eat well. Many of the pigs arrived as fallouts and more fallouts are occurring each day. This is unlike any group that she has ever seen and she would like your opinion on what you think is going on in this group. Please look at these pigs and take action to help make this situation better. I’m wondering if there is some sort of primary viral infection setting pigs up to have secondary bacterial infections?

Remember you are competing against other players around the nation for each scenario. There is a competition to see who gets the best scores on this scenario and a competition to see who will get the best score over all scenarios. So come back next month to see what your next assignment will be and add more net profit (or loss) to your overall score based on your actions in the barn. What you do each day in the barn makes a difference.

If you want to set up a system competition, contact your Pfizer Sales Representative or Ken Haas at training@hogvet.com.
