Description

RESPISURE-ONE® contains a newly formulated, chemically inactivated whole cell culture of Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae. This new formulation, coupled with a patented adjuvant, Amphigen®, enhances and prolongs the immune response while minimizing detectable tissue damage at the injection site.

Approved Uses

RESPISURE-ONE is approved for:
  • Vaccination of healthy swine as an aid in preventing chronic pneumonia caused by Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae.
Key Features

  • One-dose administration. RESPISURE-ONE is the first mycoplasma vaccine with a single dose administration and 25 weeks duration of immunity.

  • Labor savings. Single-dose administration allows for labor savings, less pig stress and less human stress.

  • Flexibility of vaccination timing. RESPISURE-ONE can be administered to pigs at one week of age or older.

  • Reduction of lung lesions. Compared to non-vaccinated controls, pigs vaccinated at one week of age and challenged 25 weeks later had a 95% reduction in lung lesions. Pigs vaccinated at eight weeks of age and challenged 18 weeks later had a 91% reduction in lung lesions.

  • Improved immune response. Amphigen, the adjuvant in RESPISURE-ONE, provides for a longer duration of immunity with a high degree of safety, ease of use and syringeability.

  • Ease of use and PQA Level III compliance. The adjuvant in RESPISURE-ONE is an oil-in-water formulation, resulting in a user-friendly viscosity. The product flows easily through the needle sizes recommended by PQA Level III and does not have to be warmed for increased syringeability.

  • Improved herd health performance. RESPISURE-ONE controls chronic pneumonia caused by Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae. Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae can often lead to significant economic loss.

  • Reduces respiratory disease. Vaccinating with RESPISURE-ONE can help reduce costly treatment of respiratory disease by controlling mycoplasma before respiratory disease strikes.

  • Blue cap and peel-off label. The blue cap allows for easy identification of RESPISURE-ONE. The peel-off label can be applied to the syringe barrel to further identify the product, its dosage and injection site.
Packaging

50-, 250-, and 500-dose vials

Dosage and Administration

  • General Directions: Shake well. Aseptically administer 2 mL intramuscularly.

  • Primary Vaccination: Administer a single 2 mL dose to healthy swine one week of age or older.

  • Revaccination: Administer a single 2 mL dose semiannually.

  • Good animal husbandry and herd health management practices should be employed.
Precautions

  • Store at 2°–7° C. Prolonged exposure to higher temperatures may adversely affect potency. Do not freeze.

  • Use entire contents when first opened.

  • Sterilized syringes and needles should be used to administer this vaccine.

  • Do not vaccinate within 21 days before slaughter.

  • As with many vaccines, anaphylaxis may occur after use. Initial antidote of epinephrine is recommended and should be followed with appropriate supportive therapy.

  • This product has been shown to be efficacious in healthy animals. A protective immune response may not be elicited if animals are incubating an infectious disease, are malnourished or parasitized, are stressed due to shipment or environmental conditions, are otherwise immunocompromised, or the vaccine is not administered in accordance with label directions.
