Actinobacillus Pleuropneumoniae Bacterin,
Serotypes 1, 5 and 7

For the vaccination of healthy swine over four weeks of age against pneumonia caused by Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae organisms. This bacterin has been shown to protect susceptible swine against intranasal challenge with virulent serotypes 1, 5 and 7 Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae organisms.

Active Ingredient(s)
This bacterin contains inactivated Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae organisms (serotypes 1, 5 and 7). It is adjuvanted with emulsified paraffin. Prepared from young cultures of Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae organisms. Chemically inactivated. Contains polymyxin B sulfate and gentamicin sulfate as preservatives.

Indications
For the vaccination of healthy swine over four weeks of age against pneumonia caused by Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae organisms. This bacterin has been shown to protect susceptible swine against intranasal challenge with virulent serotypes 1, 5 and 7 Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae organisms.

Dosage and Administration
Shake before and occasionally during use. Administer 2 mL intramuscularly or subcutaneously in the lower flank or immediately behind the ear. Use sterile syringes and needles. Repeat in 21 to 28 days. This repeat dose is essential for maximum immune response. If an outbreak occurs in older swine administer a third injection at that time. Annual revaccination of breeding swine is recommended.

Precautions
For veterinary use only.
Use the entire contents when first opened. Store at not over 45°F (7°C). Keep from freezing.


Caution(s)
Vaccination, especially repeated injections can result in anaphylaxis.
Antidote(s): Administer epinephrine.


Warning(s)
Do not vaccinate within 60 days of slaughter. Extreme caution should be used when injecting any oil emulsion vaccine to avoid injecting your finger or hand. Accidental injection can cause serious local reaction. Contact a physician immediately if accidental injection occurs.

How Supplied
50 dose (100 mL) and 125 dose (250 mL) plastic vials.
