More FMD in China's Swine
04 May 2010CHINA - The Chinese veterinary authorities have reported a new outbreak of Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) in swine.
The World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) received Follow-up Report No. 9 on Sunday, 2 May. According to the report, the outbreak occured at a farm in Xinjiang.
According to the report, 771 animals were affected by the visus (type O) and 771 showed susceptibility to the disease. 15 deaths were observed and 756 swine were destroyed.
The cause of the outbreak remains undentified.
