India State Govt. bans import of pigs INDIA - Deputy Commissioner of Kohima Sachopra Vero has reimposed the ban on importing pigs and poultry from Myanmar through Manipur until further order.  Viet Nam High prices spur pig smuggling from Vietnam to China VIET NAM - A pork shortage and record pork prices in China have led to an increase in the number of pigs smuggled into the country from Vietnam, the official Xinhua news agency reported Wednesday. Risk of pig disease outbreaks high in Vietnam HANOI - Risk of Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome (PRRS) outbreaks among pigs is still high in Vietnam although the disease has cooled down in the country, reports local newspaper Pioneer.  Armenia African Swine Fever spreads in Armenia ARMENIA - African Swine Fever (ASF), a disease that first hit the country’s northern regions leading to the death of hundreds of pigs in Lori and Tavush, has spread. It has reached the outskirts of the Armenian capital city. Spain Spanish producers cannot afford to finish their pigs SPAIN - Spanish producers are struggling to stay in business feed prices escalate and the market for weaners and finished pigs continues spiral downwards to unsustainable levels.   BRAZIL - In 2006 Brazilian farms using TOPIGS 40 sows weaned 27.5 piglets per sow per year, which is 0.5 piglets more than in 2005.
