Foot And Mouth Disease In The UK - Summary

Despite Hilary Benn's protest that "every possible precaution" was being taken to prevent this from happening again, it came as no surprise that many farmers asked for the Pirbright site to remain closed.

Meanwhile, in the Netherlands, a slaughterhouse was closed because of fears that a cow had contracted the disease.
