Foot And Mouth Disease In The UK - Summary
Following on from the announcement this week by the Scottish Government of an emergency aid package for farmers, Scotland’s farm union has spelt out the next steps in the fight for full foot and mouth compensation.
Meanwhile, The South East England Development Agency (SEEDA) has announced the launch of a £150,000 support package for South East farmers affected by the outbreak. The money will be deployed through the charities in the Farm Crisis Network, the English Beef and Lamb Executive and the South East Food Group Partnerships.
More positive news came at the end of the week when the Surveillance Zone put in place in the Egham area around the second set of outbreaks, which occurred during September, was removed.

ESF a favourite option on new spanish farms
