Reasons for Not Keeping Sows Beyond 6 Litters

  • Poor genetic potential.
  • Other problem areas identified with increasing age.

In indoor herds, levels of sows culled per annum should be between 38 to 45% but in the outdoor herd this often reaches 50%.
