Aujeszky's Disease (AD)

See also chapter 12

(324) Clinical signs are only seen in the lactating sow when the disease is introduced into the herd for the first time. In such cases sneezing and coughing are often the first signs with fever, inappetence, vomiting, abortion and nervous signs. The incubation period is usually 2 to 3 days. Deaths in suckling sows can occur in acute disease. The major clinical signs are in piglets.
