(421) This disease should always be considered if sudden widespread lameness appears. In all countries it is notifiable and must be reported to the authorities with all speed. As well as lameness, affected pigs salivate and blisters or vesicles are evident on the skin at the coronet at the top of the claws, the heels, nose and tongue.
