(470) These insects are visible by the naked eye. Fig.10-17. They are approximately 3mm long and are commonly found behind the ears and elbows. They also congregate between the legs. They suck blood and can be responsible for anaemia and the transmission of blood borne infections.

These are easily seen by the eye and are often grouped together behind the ears.
