IN-WATER TREATMENT OF GL?SSER'S DISEASE IN PIGLETS WITH AMOXYCILLIN (SURAMOX?50)

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to test the efficacy of SURAMOX?50 (Laboratoires Virbac, France), a patented stabilised formulation of amoxycillin against experimentally induced Gl?sser's Disease (GD) in weaner piglets when given as an in-water metaphylactic treatment. The study was performed as a randomised, placebo-controlled blinded study. The principal measure for assessing efficacy was the difference in survival rate.
