Porcine circovirus type 2 blocks immune activation of natural interferon producing cells.
VINCENT IE, SUMMERFIELD A, STEINER E, GUZYLACK-PIRIOU L, McCULLOUGH KC
In vitro tests were conducted in order to assess the effect of porcine circovirus type 2 (PCV2) on the immune activation of natural interferon producing cells (NIPC). The results showed that PCV2 could have negative effects on the immune response of NIPC and thus impair the initiation of specific immunity.
