Honey, Mustard and Pineapple Gammon Steaks

Ingredients (serves 2)
Gammon Steaks basted in sauce ![]() Bring sauce to boil and simmer slowly ![]() Grill (broil) the steaks ![]() Add pinapple rings (chunks) and pour over sauce. |
1 small tin of pineapple slices (or chunks)
Sauce Ingredients
2 tbls runny honey2 tbls lemon juice
2 tsp English mustard
Pineapple juice (from tin)
1 tsp cornflour
Freshly ground black pepper
Preparation
1. Rinse the gammon steaks under a cold tap, and dry with kitchen towel.2. Thoroughly mix/whisk together all the sauce ingredients in a small pan.
3.Using a basting brush, brush the steaks on both sides with a small quantity of the sauce and place in a shallow roasting tin.
Cooking
4. Place the brushed steaks under a medium-hot Grill (broiler) and cook until tender. Turn regularly to prevent burning.5. Meanwhile, stirring continuously, heat the sauce in the pan until it starts to boil. Turn down low and simmer for a few minutes.
6. Just before the steaks are cooked through, place the pineapple rings on top of the steaks and replace under the grill for a final few minutes.
7. Pour the sauce over the pineapple topped steaks and serve.
