JSR Genetics in Russian Pigs Coup!
UK - JSR Genetics, the UK based pig breeding company has won another multi million pound export contract. The contract is part of a massive ongoing breeding improvement programme undertaken by the Russian Federation region of Belgorod which is intended to make the region self-sufficient in pigmeat.
This is a two phase process of which phase one is the initial importation of genetic stock followed by phase two the setting up of nucleus facilities to supply replacement animals for the local breeding programme.
Tim Rymer, Chairman of JSR commented "During this contract we have developed an excellent understanding and working relationship with the Russian project team led by Vladimir Zotov, Vice President of the Government and Head of the Department of Economic Development. It has also involved a close working relationship with Big Dutchman, the party responsible for construction of the numerous facilities. It is clearly a very important and prestigious contract and we are delighted to have won it. I believe that the reason we were successful was that we were able to offer the unique combination of very high quality, high health breeding pigs plus the ability to organise and supply large numbers of animals over an extended period of time".
"The health and welfare of the animals during transit was a key criteria for both teams in this deal" continues Mr Rymer "and I am happy to be able to report that we have had no transport issues and all animals have arrived in good health".
"This contract is further evidence in the recognition of JSR Genetics as a major player in the international pig breeding scene and we see it as another step in the process we are going through to make JSR a truly world class player in this market and reaffirm the international standing of the UK's genetics".
