Hypor Partners with Tyson Agro-Ventures
MANILA - Hypor B.V., the Dutch arm of the global pig breeding company Hypor has signed an agreement with Tyson Agro-Ventures Inc, one of the Philippines’ leading livestock integrators, to establish a nucleus pig breeding farm in Philippines’ Visayas – Mindanao territory.
This nucleus farm will produce breeding pigs for their own integration, and also supply future Hypor customers throughout the area. Mr. Edwin Chen, Managing Director of Tyson Agro-Ventures pig operations, is very pleased with this agreement. He said, “This is a milestone which shows our commitment of supplying quality material both to the pig breeding market and the food industry in the Philippines. Our agreement will ensure a continuous supply of high health lean pork.”
Hypor is very excited about this new partnership with Tyson Agro Ventures. This agreement expands Hypor’s opportunities in the Philippines and Asia. “Our breeding expertise coupled with our partner’s knowledge of the local market, together will give us a significant competitive advantage. Our partner’s knowledge of the local market will fine tune our sireline portfolio helping us to meet the needs of the diverse Philippine market,” said Hypor Managing Director Mr. Dave Libertini.
The signing event in Manila was witnessed by The Philippines Secretary of Agriculture and leaders of the local hog industry.
