PM Dung calls for stamping out foot and mouth disease
06 September 2006VIETNAM - Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung on Thursday asked localities to stamp out outbreaks of foot and mouth disease and revive the livestock breeding industry as soon as possible.
In an urgent message sent to chairpersons of people’s committees in cities and provinces, the Prime Minister said the foot and mouth epidemic had occurred in many cities and provinces nationwide.
Though localities had focused on guiding and applying preventive measures, controlling the disease in many, the epidemic persisted in some localities from lack of strict guidance and failure in applying preventive methods simultaneously.
