Rain puts hog waste lagoons too high

NORTH CAROLINA - Four hog farms in the region are experiencing critical swelling at lagoons after last week's 6-inch rainfall. And with more wet weather expected in the coming days, state officials are taking early action to keep the waste from overflowing into the Northeast Cape Fear River.
