Grassroots: Regional series focuses on effective swine care
IOWA - A series of five regional pork conferences will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday at different sites in Iowa.Sponsors are the Iowa Pork Industry Center, the Iowa Pork Producers Association and Iowa State University Extension.
The conference series will discuss effective marketing strategies and new technological advances in swine production. The series also will provide information about on-farm diagnostic methods for preliminary health investigations and minimizing stress in handling swine.
The conferences will be held Monday in Carroll, Tuesday in Sioux Center, Wednesday in Ainsworth, Thursday in Oelwein and Friday in Dows.
The fee for those registered at least two business days in advance is $20, which includes the noon meal and materials. Walk-in registration is $30. Both can be paid at the door.
