Print This Page No Opposition To Hog Confinement Permit
IOWA - The Cerro Gordo County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday approved a construction permit application for a hog confinement in the southern part of the county.The application, construction permit and a manure management plan for Christensen Farms Midwest LLC were approved after a public hearing.
Christensen Farms plans a 6,240 swine finishing operation 3½ miles northwest of Thornton.
The plan calls for a two-building facility to be constructed on a 10-acre site.
Matt Nelson of Christensen Farms told the supervisors that the company has a purchase option on the property. He said local employees will be hired to operate the facility.
