Print This Page Swine Plague Registered In Russia Volgograd Region
VOLGOGRAD - An emergency situation has been announced in the settlement of Gorodishche in Russia’s Volgograd region, where 41 swine have died of plague, a senior official from the regional department of the Ministry for Emergency Situations told Tass on Tuesday.According to Yelena Rodionova, the animals died in a private household within the period of March 26 to April 2. They were transported two kilometres away from the settlement and burnt, she added.
The source of the infection has not been found as of yet. Quarantine measures are taken Gorodishche.
