Canada pork promotion agency sounds out Vietnam
23 April 2007VIET NAM - A delegation from export promoter Canada Pork International (CPI) is on a fact-finding visit to Vietnam to explore business opportunities.
Martin Lavoie, CPI’s deputy managing director, said he was convinced Canadian pork would be able to gain a foothold in Vietnam considering its robust economic development and growing demand for quality meat.
Export would be much easier post-WTO since Vietnam had cut import tariffs on pork by 50 percent and the two countries had signed a food safety deal.
