Print This Page More TOPIGS Sows In The Netherlands
NETHERLANDS - In 2006 TOPIGS Nederland sold 2.8 % more gilts. In total 215,000 gilts were sold.
TOPIGS 20 is the most used sow with a market share of 72%. The turnover of semen for the in-house nucleus system rose by 6%. Dutch farmers produced about 140,000 gilts via the in-house nucleus system.
This means that a grand total of 355,000 TOPIGS gilts were sold in 2006, a market share of over 85%.
