Nedap RFID Enables High Level Of Sow Management In Czech Replublic.
CZECH REPUBLIC - Nedap continues its roll out of Nedap Velos throughout all parts of Europe by installing the first Czech installation, end of May 2007, on a 350 sow unit.
By implementing the sow management based on Nedap electronic identification, this farm has enabled itself to combine the existing low-cost building with high level of sow management and low labor requirements.
Every pregnant sow is automatically and continuously provided with the accurate amount of feed and checked for heath. Without any manual tasks, the system checks for sows that have not eaten and monitors the progress of the feeding process. Sows will be re-allocated by a sow separation-unit for treatment, re-insemination or forwarding to the farrowing department.
The web-based Velos system enables the farm staff to link into the system both on- as off-site allowing full control from any location. A web-service allows a regular update of the system without additional labor from local staff.
Nedap Velos enables pigproducers to increase production while facing the challenges of feed- and laborcost. Nedap Velos saves labor by automating the feeding process, saves feed by excecuting effective feedstrategies and provides full control of the production process by monitoring and analyzing the animal status from any location.
