MOSCOW - Russia's food safety watchdog - the Russian Federal Agency for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision - has started inspecting US pork producers that intend to export their produce to Russia. |
Russian inspectors will also completed checks on 29 poultry slaughtering and processing and 20 frozen poultry facilities.
Results will be analysed with the premise of re-opening export markets to Russia for US pork and poultry meat. Supplies of US pork to Russia were stopped becasue of reported cases of trichinellosis in some US pig populations.
